And So The Story Ends

Good Morning World and thanks for tuning in to the penultimate post day here on Planet Magnet. After this post there will be only one more and that won’t be for a couple of weeks as I tell the story of my walk along Britain’s oldest Road.

That means this is post number 499!

Quite an incredible feat but one that I suppose I am quite proud to have achieved.

I have always said that I would share my life with you guys for the next 499 posts, after which I would walk the Ridgeway for the Charity HENRY and make my 500th and final post about that very walk.

It is hard to consider the person I was when I started out on the journey. Some people don’t even recognise me as I have changed so much physically, others don’t recognise me because I have changed so much mentally.

Regardless of which is more significant I think we must all agree that since my surgery and subsequent life change, this person…

Back Camera

With My Mum!

Is no longer anything like this person….

If we consider way back when I started this little blog after advice to do so, I was incredibly unfit, unhappy, lonely, I was letting life pass me by and I was disengaged.

No more though.

What a difference 18mths and the help and support of medical professionals and all of you guys here on Word Press who come to read my words every day. Some of you read quietly and fly under the radar and some of you read and comment and encourage. Regardless of which camp you fall into, I appreciate you all so very very much and I thank you all very much from the bottom of my heart.

You guys have made the incredible challenge of 499 posts a possibility and I am so happy that I have completed what I set out to do I think all I need do now is wish myself Bon Voyage, Bon Chance and Bon Temps for the next week of walking. You will be able to follow my updates on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram…..

So until I write and publish the story of my walk, I shall leave you with these words from T.S Elliots Little Gidding (pointed TO me by Osyth from Half Baked in Paradise but here mixed up by ME) and hopefully they will sum up all I have been trying to say…

“To make an end is to make a beginning so always remember last years thoughts belong to last years language whereas next years words await another voice”

So ’till the last time,

Stay out of the fridge.

P.S. Don’t forget to follow this link and donate to my just giving page.

A Final Video Blog Farewell.

Good Morning world and thanks for tuning in to another day here on Planet Magnet.

Today we start the week with just 6 more posts (including this one) remaining until I leave for my epic walk where I shall record the final chapter of this blog by telling you all about my journey along the Ridgeway.

However, today I shall simply be talking about the blog and how I would never have dreamed I would ever reach the stage that I have today including all other sundry items along the way….

So carry on and watch, see what you can see and let me know what you think in the comments….

‘Till tomorrow,

Stay out of the fridge.

P.S Don’t forget to follow this link and donate to my just giving page…..

Well We Are Still Waiting…

Good Morning world and thanks for tuning in to another day here on Planet Magnet.

Today sees the British weather back to it’s usual tricks with the sun a long forgotten memory as it has rained continually for the past three days. Still, nothing that we aren’t used to and if it does all of it’s raining this month then at least there will be no more raining next month when I am walking……

Yes that’s right.

You heard me correctly.

Although I am STILL waiting my appointments with both the Blood people and my G.P, I have decided that there will be a walk starting on June the 17th from Ivinghoe Beacon and I would love as many people to come along as can possibly manage it. It would be great if you walked a little way with me but I will understand fully if you simply want to wave me off whilst muttering “good riddance and glad to see the back of him” under your breath… 😉

Reasons To Be Cheerful

Good morning world and welcome to the weekend! I honestly thought I might be a little late on parade this morning as yesterday I went to the chiropractor to have my back pain looked at and amazingly enough after some discussion, both he and I think it has been caused by sitting in front of this computer! So to that end I was told to avoid it for 24 hrs at least. What can I say, I managed about 12 hours before withdrawal set in and am now having to write this on the very morning you get to read it so I hope through my sleepy haze we can both make some kind of sense of it all….

Anyway, back to the weekend and I trust you are looking forward to just as an enjoyable time as I am and to get things started on a much more happy note than I ended them yesterday, I should like to share with you some reasons that the Worlds Biggest Fridge Magnet should be cheerful. I have never actually made a list before for my blog so I would like to make one now around my halfway mark and see how it compares with the one I shall try to remember to make at the end of the blog in 8 months time (reminders for this will come in handy for sure 😉 )

And So Back To Reality I Must Come

Happy Friday everyone! (just stole a little bit from a UK Radio D.J just there – not saying who though 😉 )

So what does the end of the week hold for you?

For me it is the chance to reflect and count my blessings. To consider how grateful I am that things are going so well and possibly to have a look in the mirror and pat myself on the back a little. I am due to come back to reality anytime now but thinking about that can wait because this gorgeous little chap has come to stay for a couple of weeks.

Tracking My Progress.

Recently I have been asked on several occasions how my weight loss is progressing and some people (in fact nearly all) are quite surprised when I say I have no idea.

They cannot quite grasp the fact that I am not allowing myself to be obsessed by my weight loss figures.

Don’t forget, the last time I was checking myself on a regular basis, I cocked up all of the figures to such a degree that I was convinced that some weeks I “put on” weight instead of “losing”. However, it turned out that I had actually made a complete mess of my figures all along and when I finally let professionals take care of it, the correct readings showed a loss of nearly one stone in weight! (I think it was 13lbs or 5.9kgs) To this end I believe it is wiser for me to allow myself to be measured at certain points of my body and weighed on the same scale all by the same person each time so we have an absolute reading and not  “Cameron’s interpretation”

Do You Think I Might Have Run Out Of Puff?

Hi Y’all. Rest day for me yesterday so not much to report although due to the previous days lack of a gym session I decided I had best walk again and keep the muscles moving. I am wondering if in someway, because I no longer eat as much as I did, if I am taking on enough energy but then that doesn’t make sense because I eat so much more nutritionally than I have ever done before.

It’s a weird one.

One thing is for sure, I feel like I am running out of puff.

Maybe I’m like the Duracell Bunny with the drums. I have managed to go a lot further than my previous incarnation, but like all things must, I have finally run out of power and am scrabbling for my energy, turning my batteries, switching the ends and warming them up trying to eke out the final bits of power. Straighten Up And Fly Right

Well that’s the weekend over. I hope you guys had a great time relaxing in the sun – yes there was some sun here in the UK; and it looks like it might become a habit after three sunny days on the trot 😉

But now we are back at it. Getting back in the groove of the working week.

I know I am lucky to be able to spend my days writing but after a week off of concentrating on my commercial stuff I need to get back to it with a new project, although I personally find it very difficult to switch between stories and with so many on the go at one time (I currently have four projects that I am working on and five others that I need to devote more time to bringing their embryonic status to a more tangible point) it proves that to stop one train of thought and start another is a great deal more time consuming and difficult than you might believe.

Reaching To The Converted

Morning Bloggers!

Do you know it has been six days since I have felt this good.

I awoke this morning at 07:30 am and even with the headache, neck-ache and sweating, as soon as I threw my quilt back to meet the world, I knew I felt better.

For one I had made it through the entire night without having to get dressed and get back into bed, I had not woken at 02:00 am in need of a paracetamol to stop the temperature crazies taking hold and I had also not been waking all night with weird lucid dreams about things like “unless I get that second duvet out of the cupboard, Friday won’t actually be able to begin” All VERY weird I can tell you, a bit like normal then I suppose 😉

The Intrinsic Factor

Vitamin B12.

Heard of it?

Okay, so it’s called Cobalamin, but can you tell me what it does?

No? Me neither but it is one of the many things that I shall no longer produce enough of myself since having part of my stomach removed meaning that there will be regular supplements having to be injected on a quarterly basis.

That is along with a daily regimen of multi vitamins, minerals and iron that I shall have to suck down. Not literally iron filings but a manufactured supplement to improve my insides and relieve any borderline anaemia.
