BBC Media

What follows is a catalogue of my media work to date. Please check back for updates. There may be some (Hooray!)but there also may not (Boo Hiss)

Press play on any of them to start laughing your socks off!

Well it all started with this first radio interview with the Phil Gayle Radio Show on local radio BBC Radio Oxford when I was interviewed live on air on Monday the 5th of January 2015.

Listen Very Carefully I Shall Say This Only Once…

I was also invited onto Howard Bentham’s Show on Monday 30th March 2015 to discuss how I was getting along post operation.

Houston We Have A Problem

My next appearance was on BBC Radio Berkshire. This was with the man who thinks it is easy to lose weight…..

They Get Everywhere…

A quick interview a few days later by the same show as above but with a different presenter so suffice to say it went a little better even though I was full of the cold….

Not Feeling The Best

Then we had the discussion about excess skin removal being funded (or not) by the National Health Service. This was on the Howard Bentham Show on BBC Radio Oxford in early January of 2016.

A Terribly Nice Chap

I then moved onwards to my first appearance on TV (I’m sure photofits on Crime Watch don’t count as appearances…) and a few hours after I had spoken to Phil Gayle, I was being interviewed at home by Adina Campbell. This was filmed on the 5th of January and was broadcast on the 6th at the “tea time” slot.

Take a deep breath folks...

Amazingly enough, after filming this they wanted more It turns out that viewers faces hadn’t melted during the 30 seconds I was on-screen; and the BBC Editor thought that my story had legs, bony little spindly ones but non the less, still legs.

So with my operation booked for the 13th of March, Adina got in touch and we started filming on the 10th, continuing through to the following day when I was in the studio with the Surgeon looking like I was getting a lesson in Bariatrics. If there are any questions at the end of it, I recommend you ask Bruno, not me…

Anyway, after all the filming was complete, it was decided that it would be broadcast on the day of my surgery, Friday the 13th again at the “tea time” slot.

This is what they came up with…

The Beeb are back and following up on my story six months on from last appearance. See how I have shrunk!

The incredible shrinking man…

Then after a full days filming in London on Friday the 8th of Jan where I met a Plastic Surgeon and a Body Image Psychologist we came up with this story for the News.

Excess Skin…

Great job. Media is a wonderful tool to spread the message of your success. I promise you it will inspire others to achieve lifestyle changes which is so much more important than simply losing weight. Well done.

I’ve finally just watched the latest … you still know how (and I know it is purely intuitive which is the mark of a natural) to get the best out of that camera and reporter. You look great. That is number 1. As a woman who put on a huge amount of weight with my first child and has the stretchies and excess belly flop to testify I know how important this issue is. Media monster – we need to ratchet you up and release you on the unsuspecting masses because I can guarantee they all have a loose skinned friend or relly in their orbit and that is the way to make friends and influence people to the good 🙂
