And So The Story Ends

Good Morning World and thanks for tuning in to the penultimate post day here on Planet Magnet. After this post there will be only one more and that won’t be for a couple of weeks as I tell the story of my walk along Britain’s oldest Road.

That means this is post number 499!

Quite an incredible feat but one that I suppose I am quite proud to have achieved.

I have always said that I would share my life with you guys for the next 499 posts, after which I would walk the Ridgeway for the Charity HENRY and make my 500th and final post about that very walk.

It is hard to consider the person I was when I started out on the journey. Some people don’t even recognise me as I have changed so much physically, others don’t recognise me because I have changed so much mentally.

Regardless of which is more significant I think we must all agree that since my surgery and subsequent life change, this person…

Back Camera

With My Mum!

Is no longer anything like this person….

If we consider way back when I started this little blog after advice to do so, I was incredibly unfit, unhappy, lonely, I was letting life pass me by and I was disengaged.

No more though.

What a difference 18mths and the help and support of medical professionals and all of you guys here on Word Press who come to read my words every day. Some of you read quietly and fly under the radar and some of you read and comment and encourage. Regardless of which camp you fall into, I appreciate you all so very very much and I thank you all very much from the bottom of my heart.

You guys have made the incredible challenge of 499 posts a possibility and I am so happy that I have completed what I set out to do I think all I need do now is wish myself Bon Voyage, Bon Chance and Bon Temps for the next week of walking. You will be able to follow my updates on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram…..

So until I write and publish the story of my walk, I shall leave you with these words from T.S Elliots Little Gidding (pointed TO me by Osyth from Half Baked in Paradise but here mixed up by ME) and hopefully they will sum up all I have been trying to say…

“To make an end is to make a beginning so always remember last years thoughts belong to last years language whereas next years words await another voice”

So ’till the last time,

Stay out of the fridge.

P.S. Don’t forget to follow this link and donate to my just giving page.

Tasty Tuesday – On Top Of Spaghetti….

All covered with cheese, I lost my poor meatball, when somebody sneezed. It rolled off the table and on to the floor and then my poor meatball it rolled out the door…

Good Morning world and thanks for tuning in to another Tasty Tuesday here on the blog of the Worlds Biggest Fridge Magnet! I trust you are well and ready to experience a new kind of heaven brought to you by the creative culinary brain cells of the Magnet.

So what are we making today?

Well even though its in the title, there is no Spaghetti.

Just the meatballs because after a visit to my local friendly supermarket I arrived home with some bargains and some new ingredients so it was time to come up with a new dish that would blow your socks off.

And this is what I came up with.

Mushroom and Meatball Stew.

There’s Life In The Old Dog Yet

Good morning world and thanks for tuning in to another day here on Planet Magnet. Firstly I must start with a show of thanks for all of my kind birthday wishes yesterday, you are all very sweet to have acknowledged the Magnets birthday and for that I thank you.

Yesterday turned out to be a very enjoyable day even if it was a trifle busy. I started off with a good walk with Archie the Dog and although we didn’t make it to the Ridgeway we certainly put in some quick mileage which I enjoyed very much indeed even if I was two minutes 30 seconds off of my pace. I managed to walk just over 7 miles in just over two hours. I think I may have been quicker had Archie been more in the mood for moving at my pace but to be fair he did very well indeed.

So below we have the first screenshot of this year to show you what I managed to achieve. I know I have a long way to go still because today I am very tired and although I plan to go to the gym, it doesn’t feel like it will be as energetic a session as I might have hoped. Still that is what training programs are for I suppose… 😉

Oh Motivation, Motivation, Wherefore Art Thou Motivation?

Good morning world and thanks for tuning in to what a appears to be a rather lack lustre day here on my own Planet Magnet.

The sun is out, the sky is blue, there’s not a cloud to spoil the view……

Yet I am suffering from a massive lack of motivation which is something I have found totally alien to me for the past several months. Yes I have had “down days” but today I have a train ing program to start and I have not felt this de motivated for what appears to be a lifetime.

So what is wrong?

Well I could put it bit down to being absolutely worn out which I suppose could be true, but we all know that when we are worn out we only need to get ourselves to the gym and the body just naturally finds it’s way again and we get back into the swing of things with our Mojo coming back in spades.

Big Wheels Keep On Turnin’

Carry me home to see my kin….*

Good morning world and thanks for tuning in to another day here on Planet Magnet.

So what do we have in store for you today? Well if I am honest there is not a great deal to talk about other than my return to the gym….

What? You went back to the gym?

Oh yes, I did indeed and best of all, I enjoyed it very much indeed…..!

It was time to get the wheels turning once again and to get my head back through the door, breaking the hoodoo that can sometimes surround a gym return because even though a gym habit is an easy one to form, it is also a very easy one to break. Lets face it, how many of us could be found guilty of saying to ourselves “Yes, I know I need to go but I am just too busy today” I know that I do it and if I do it then I know for sure that YOU do too…!

A Tale Of Two Lives On The Eleventh Day Of Christmas….

On the Eleventh day of Christmas, my true love sent to me…
Eleven Pipers Piping, Ten Lords a Leaping, Nine Ladies Dancing, Eight Maids a Milking, Seven Swans a Swimming, Six Geese a Laying, Five Gold Rings, Four Calling Birds, Three French Hens, Two Turtle Doves and a Partridge in a Pear tree.

We are nearly there folks. The Twelve days are nearly done and I for one am so glad because my house is a mess. Leaping and dancing, milking and laying. My carpets will never be the same again I swear….

So today see’s many of us back to work. Some may have returned already, some may have worked the entire time but from what I can tell, the bulk of the workers are returning today and a shock to the system it may well prove to be…

The Awesomeness Continues…

Yes! That is correct, you read that right, the awesomeness continues.

Whose awesomeness I hear you ask?

Well I shall give you a little hint.

It’s ME!!

Good morning world and welcome to another weekend here on Planet Magnet. I trust this Saturday finds you well and enjoying your down time (should you be allowed any…. I only say that because it doesn’t look good for me…. 😉 ) and are looking forward to a weekend of top relaxing action and fun.

So what’s all this about my awesomeness?

Well I Did It!!

Hi guys, sorry it is so late getting my post out today, I have had such a busy day that this is literally the first moment I have had to myself where I can actually get to the computer to write something.

To that end, I am sure you are all very busy getting on with your day or are very sleepy and are putting your day to bed so I shall make this short and sweet.

What was it that I did?

Well, I went back to the gym and I got training again after a near four week lay off with that pain running from my neck down into my left scapula. The pain has abated enough to get back in the gym although there is obviously some muscle issue as there are constant pins and needles in the lower scapula to spine area and even the course of treatment from the Chiropractor didn’t end up solving it and when that comes to over £300 per month, it begins to stretch the purse strings somewhat.

Past Due

Good morning world, thanks for tuning in and catching up with the magnet.

Quick post today as I really need to be getting on. Yesterday I wrote about helping friends out and well, after following said post with a very busy day I am pleased to say that we have almost broken the back of the problem that currently faced us and we were able to walk away feeling as though things had been accomplished and progress made.

This made for a very relaxed evening and a very relaxed happy friend; and because I believe that putting a smile on a friends face is one of the best things we can possibly do in our lives, I was a happy chap too…

Today will be a less frantic day but busy none the less and shall bring to an end a very busy couple of weeks for me where I was very much back in the swing of multitasking and really keeping myself moving whilst completing tasks and giving myself mental gold stars and pats on the back for my incredible progress.
