Good Morning world and thanks for Tuning in to another day here on Planet Magnet! I trust today’s second day of the week, the day when I share my minuscule culinary skills, see’s you bright eyed and bushy tailed and charging head first into the bright day filled with possibilities that is Tuesday…
A Tasty Tuesday no less.
So what do I have for you today?
Well I thought I would make a little Salmon and Lentils.
Very healthy.
So let’s get to it.
Ingredients:
- 200gms Red Split Lentils.
- 200gms Green Lentils.
- 500mls Chicken Stock.
- 3 Cloves Garlic – finely chopped.
- 300gms Smoked Salmon Fillets – shredded.
- 300gms Chestnut Mushrooms – finely chopped.
- 1 Bunch Spring Onions – finely chopped.
- 2 Small Red Onions – finely chopped.
- 1 Large Romano Pepper – finely chopped.
- Large Slug of Olive Oil.
- Large Knob Of Butter.
- Himalayan Pink Salt – to season.
- Cracked Black Pepper – to season.
- 1 Red Chili – finely chopped.
- Jalapeno Hot Sauce – flavouring the Mushrooms.
Start by placing the measured Lentils into a bowl.
Adding hot water.
And then leaving to steep so they swell and release the starches.
Place a Knob of Butter into a pan and begin to melt.
Prepare the Mushrooms.
Add some Olive Oil to another pan and start to heat.
Add some Cracked Black Pepper to the Butter.
And then add the sliced Mushrooms.
Followed by a good sized nip of Jalapeno Sauce.
By now the Lentils should have swollen and steeped so strain into a sieve and rinse well with fresh water.
Put Lentils to one side and add the chopped Chilli’s and Garlic to the hot Olive Oil.
Once browned add the Red Onion.
And mix in well so it starts to share its flavour’s and sweat.
Add the sieve of rinsed Lentils.
Mix into the other ingredients.
Season with Cracked Black Pepper.
Then add the Chicken Stock. And allow the Lentils to soak up the stock as they swell further.
And some Himalayan Pink Salt.
Strain the Mushrooms.
And add into the pan.
Prepare the Spring Onions and the Romany Pepper, along with the Salmon.
Shred the Salmon and add to the mixture with a few minutes cooking time.
Followed immediately by the Spring Onions and Pepper.
Mix in Well and allow to cook for a few more minutes.
And there we have it.
A bowl of healthy Salmon and Lentils.
Eh, Voila!!
I hope you get the opportunity to try this one because it is super tasty and very easy to make whilst remaining totally healthy ALL year round… 🙂
‘Till tomorrow,
Stay out of the fridge.
I love the way you cook your lentils….what a yummy looking dish, of course replacing the salmon with chicken or ham…LOL sorry..have a wonderful week…..kat

Of course…. Ham or chicken will work. I have done ham before and that is rather nice when you use Green Lentils and the Ham stock…..
