The Magnet Interviews…. A Sleeved Lady

Good morning world and thanks for tuning in to the final day of the working week here on Planet Magnet! I trust you are ready for the delights your weekend holds and are looking forward to meeting these delights with open arms and a welcome look on your face. Personally I have no idea what my weekend holds in store. I am sure there will be the requisite amount of painting and decorating, some “handy man” building jobs and no doubt some good eating but none of that matters today because this evening I am being taken out for a surprise!
Part of it is to say thank you for all of my efforts over the past few months and part of it is because it is my birthday next Thursday (thats the 3rd of March people….) however, regardless of which part is which I shall look forward to it because in all of my days I honestly do not recall ever being taken out on a surprise!
Well, I say that, maybe it has happened but I don’t remember, so therefore to my mind it doesn’t count ๐Ÿ˜‰ however, I do know one thing for sure though, I am looking forward to this evening and plan to enjoy myself.

Now back to today and yet another Magnet interview where I get to cross examine Janell from Sleeveforme22. Janell has had the same Baritaric procedure as I have so we often compare notes but it appears that she has had a great amount of success since her operation so why she would need my advice is totally beyond me. People think I am a poster boy for the Vertical Gastric Sleeve but Janell knocks me into a cocked hat!

Plus how could I not feature her answers when they came with this lovely message –

“You know I love your blog and everything you are working for, Cam. I have enjoyed the interviews so much and thought it wasn’t fair to enjoy them and hope for more without throwing my own hat in the ring there. So… here you go”

Want to know more, well read the interview then get on over to the website and start following….

And the Magnet interviews continue….

Are you usually late, early or right on time?

I’m always early, probably obnoxiously so. I’d rather be 10 minutes early vs. 30 seconds late.

What are three positive things your friends would say about you?

I asked a couple friends and here was the consensus: strong, loving and fierce (The fierce comment was made by all 3 – not sure what I think about that. Is that a compliment? Remains to be seen)

If you were a shape, what shape would you be?

I’d be a star. In fact, I think I am a star and not in the way it sounds. I think I have some pointy edges and am not always smooth in that sense, but I have depth at center. Anyone or anything that gets past the edges and into the center really knows me, the real me. Plus, who isn’t attracted to a star?

If you were an animal, which one would best describe you?

I’m going with a Lion. I think I’ve always been strong and seen as a leader (I’ve been in management for more years than I can count). I’m protective of my friends and family.

Why did you want to become a blogger?

I didn’t anticipate becoming a blogger, it just sort of happened. I thought having my own blog to place my raw feelings in an anonymous way would be therapeutic for me throughout my weight loss journey. It’s been a wonderful support system – far better than I ever anticipated.

What are your top three personal interests?

Outside of family activities, it’s Yoga, anything related to owning a business (I’m ready to learn as much as I can before launching my own) and essential oils.

What do you do for a full time job?

I’m the National Quality Manager for a major insurance company. It’s my job to focus on Patient Safety Measures for the physicians and hospitals that we have in our networks. I’m also working to launch my own business this Fall – stay tuned!

What type of car do you drive?

I drive a Ford Flex and adore it.

Where did you go on your last holiday?

My last trip was to Gatlinburg, TN. Every Fall we treat my parents to a trip to the mountains so that my son gets quality time with his Grandparents. Making memories with them is important to us.

What would you do if you were the one survivor in a plane crash?

I’m a survivor so I’ve figure out a plan to save myself first and decide on what type of fabulous book and/or movie deal I can get made later.

If you woke up and had 2,000 unread emails and could only answer 300 of them how would you choose which ones to answer?

I’d panic. I’m someone who reads every email. I’m thorough with my inbox and it would really bother me if I couldn’t read them all. You just never know what you will read or glean from even an email that is spam – I like some of the spam even because it makes me laugh.

Whatโ€™s your favorite film?

I love movies so selecting one is really hard. Favorite film in general – Someone Like You. It’s strange for me to pick this type of movie, but there are a couple lines in it that choke me up every time I see it – and I’m not easily choked up.

What would your Desert Island Disc choices be?

Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, James Taylor, Ingrid Michaelson and my husband’s CDs (I married a smooth jazz musician)

Who would win in a fight between Spiderman and Batman?

Batman. Always Batman – even though Spiderman is a total favorite of mine.

What did you have for breakfast?

Oatmeal with almonds and sliced banana

Describe the color yellow to somebody whoโ€™s blind.

It looks like how the sunshine feels on your face in Spring. Refreshing, warm and happy.

If you were asked to unload a 747 full of Jelly Beans, what would you do?

Immediately jump on the scale the next morning to see if my hard work would show in a weight loss.

Whatโ€™s your favorite animated film?

Beauty and the Beast – mostly because it demonstrates that people are far deeper than they look and we shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover.

Just a side note here, while everyone got sick of Frozen, I do love this one too. I loved the strong female characters and that at the end the “true love” that was needed to break a curse was from the love between sisters vs. romantic love.

What was the inspiration for your blog/pen name?

It’s obvious, isn’t it? I was pre-weight loss surgery and getting the sleeve – hence the name sleeveforme.

What happens when you get scared half to death twiceโ€ฆ?

I’ll let you know when I experience it.

Why arenโ€™t blueberries blue?

They are blue. Blue-ish anyway.

Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia is the fear of long words, but why is that word it so long?

Someone had a great sense of humor.

What was the last lie you told?

I told someone that I enjoyed working with them on a project. I didn’t.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

I was told just last weekend that my son was confident, strong and a good leader. I know I’ve contributed to or influenced that.

Would you prefer to be ugly and live to be 100 or attractive and live for 30 years?

Ugly in looks or personality? And by whose standards? I’d need more information here before I could pick.

Do you have any relatives in jail?

Oh lord – I always have relatives in jail. I mean we can’t even have reunions anymore because of the amount of folks in jail. Seriously not making this up. I have everything from armed robbers, drug dealers, etc. I quickly realized as a young child that I’d never have a career in politics – not with my relatives. Like who would trust me when my extended family is such a mess?

What single piece of food could you never give up?

Onion. Probably a strange answer, but I use onion on and in everything. If I didn’t have it I’d be sad and feel like I was missing so much of my favorite flavors in everything.

Do you spread butter on before peanut butter?

Ew. I like them both, but not together.

Who do you most admire in life?

My mother. She came from a very abusive childhood (salt & peppered with a lot of jailbirds around her – see above) and somehow managed to live a happy life. She chose to be happy vs. letting her childhood define her. It’s amazing to see what a strong woman she is considering her siblings fell apart and have let it define their lives.

Would you prefer to date someone older or younger than yourself?

I have an old soul, so I lean towards older; however, my hubby is 2 years younger. I think the fact that we both have old souls makes us a perfect match.

So there you have it. Answered by Janell with truth and affection, wit and wisdom. Thank you so much Janell for answering my questions and I loved the answers!

‘Till tomorrow,

Stay out of the fridge.
