Oh Motivation, Motivation, Wherefore Art Thou Motivation?

Good morning world and thanks for tuning in to what a appears to be a rather lack lustre day here on my own Planet Magnet.

The sun is out, the sky is blue, there’s not a cloud to spoil the view……

Yet I am suffering from a massive lack of motivation which is something I have found totally alien to me for the past several months. Yes I have had “down days” but today I have a train ing program to start and I have not felt this de motivated for what appears to be a lifetime.

So what is wrong?

Well I could put it bit down to being absolutely worn out which I suppose could be true, but we all know that when we are worn out we only need to get ourselves to the gym and the body just naturally finds it’s way again and we get back into the swing of things with our Mojo coming back in spades.

Today however I am feeling nothing but numbness toward all things Cameron. Whether it be training, writing, working, cooking etc etc. I have literally no zest at all.
Admittedly I did walk the dog and it was quite a decent walk of about 5kms but it didn’t really put me in any better of a mood.
Maybe it is the sheer size of the task that is in front of me that has subconsciously taken me down. Maybe it is the fact that I am only just beginning to realise what I am trying to achieve is a great big ask of anyone with plenty of on time on their hands and yet I (as you guys know) am not someone that could be considered as having enoughΒ time let alone any to spare.

I therefore suppose I had better suck it up and get on with it as best as I can and maybe, just maybe my sparkle will come back and I will be fighting fit and ready to get into the swing of things.

At least that is what I am hoping will happen. I will rest for the remainder of today and I shall start small but take important steps toward the targets I have set myself. Maybe I am simply just tired out and therefore unable to get going. Maybe I have too many tasks on my mind and am struggling to know where to start. Maybe I am being lazy?
I suppose that all of these are possibilities that should not be discounted if I have no real idea of what is actually wrong with me but in trying to get a handle on it, I am hooping to find where my funk is originating and perhaps work on that a little.

Anyway, I am sure as I ever, I will soon be right as rain as the saying goes so until that time, if you can bear with me (something I appear to ask you guys to do on an all to regular occurrence of late) I will continue to appreciate your ever increasing support.

    Dont let it worry you just give yourself a little treat but your favourite movie on, have a cry or a laugh depending on the movie…lol mine always a musical, the King and I (original, Yul Brynner) my all time favourite. Tomorrow another day xxx

      Thanks Denise. I shall be alright I am sure. This evening I shall go to see one of the ladies that is backing me on my journey and hope that she can help with the motivation. I reckon ion it were a movie into watch it would be an old Will Hay so laughing would be top of the list. Strangely enough I thought about watching a Will Hay moving today but didn’t. How Odd!

    You have given yourself too much to do of late my friend, my guess is you’re a little burnt out, relax for a coupe of days then make the walking a priority above everything else – you have time (just) …You can do this!!

    This Turtle ( a.k.a. the Queen of “coming up with excuses, postponing and procrastination” ) would nevertheless say break it : 1st -take a break (slow day today = rest) 2nd – break it down ( don’t think about the big goal , but on small daily ones )

    I definitely understand the place you’re in. A total apathy of sorts that looks at all of the pile in front of you and your limbs just don’t want to move and your mind just doesn’t want to think about. It happens to the best, as you are the best and going through it now-see? Try not to look at the whole pile with your lens on. Hone in on one area only and just focus on that one little thing. Let the rest blur out for a moment. That way you can trick your mind into thinking that’s all that’s required of you right now. Once you do it, then focus on another. Until you get back your motivation to see the whole pile again and can actually FEEL like strategizing to tackle the whole pile. Just something I have to do when I get like that-maybe it will help you too…hugs!

      It really is. I have even lost the mojo where I am grateful first thing in the morning and thinking about what I am going to do. Crazy really but I know it will come back for sure.
      Keep on trucking and you will get there. Sometimes you just need to suck up the down times and stick your neck out.

    Hi Cameron, how are you feeling today? Yesterday sounded a bit harsh for you. I hope you are feeling more like yourself . Also, don’t be hard on yourself, your life is busy and you deserve to take a breather here and there…Anyway, I just hope you are back to your cheerful self…and yes, maybe do a little exercise in the gym , and that may kick start your motivation again. πŸ™‚

      Wow! Thanks Lynne, very kind of you to ask. I am feeling a touch brighter today after a bit of down time, a good nights rest and a meeting with the support team for the walk. They were able to help with breaking down my feeling of having too much on and also made me feel a good deal better for sure.
      I also had a nice long walk with the dog which always makes me feel better so here’s hoping things are on the up and up….!

    I think your subconscious has realized what you have signed yourself up for in June….sometimes your body knows best….its asking for a moment to gain control of the situation upcoming….nothing wrong with taking a step back, resetting your umph factor so to say…..I like that your taking baby steps to your goals, don’t look part the now, leave the tomorrow for that, tomorrow….you can’t do anything to help yourself the big outcome without living in the moment and following the plan your tram has set up for you….what’s nice about a walk for charity or any event really is, there is always a beginning, a middle and the end…..so hang in there my friend…..your doing great!!!
