19 Weeks To Save My Life….

I know I know, a little bit dramatic, a little bit “A year to save my life” but also a little bit true….

And NO, I don’t need anyone to help to save my life so stand down all…!

Good morning friends and thanks for tuning in to another day here on the wonderful world that is Planet Magnet. Where full stops and comma’s appear at random and capital letters have a life of their own, springing up as they see fit.

But then I don’t think you guys would have it any other way would you….?

So what’s this title all about?

Well today I was supposed go to the gym to discuss my training schedule for the next four months and I was excited to say the least, unfortunately I have just received a text to say that the trainer in question has been sent home for looking a bit ill…!
Probably just as well we don’t trouble him with tasks such as training me, I need his head to be completely clear and focussed. This means the appointment will postponed until next week and I will no doubt report on it then.

Last week I popped in to see Lisa at The TFD GymΒ to discuss what I thought may well be the relevant subject of specific training for my walk in four months time!
I had not even considered the fact that I might need specific training for my walk until I was listening to an interview of a lady by the name of Jo Brand who is, as I write, walking something called the Trans Penine Way for a charity known as Sport Relief. She spoke of the fact that she had been training for four months in preparation for the walk as as she did, a lightbulb went on in my head.

And today here we are.

I am four months from the biggest challenge of my life. This morning I had a logistics meeting with my friend Kate and once we had gotten past the initial 30 minute catch up on whats been going on in our lives we were able to get some good points down for action over the coming week. These included working out where each leg will take me on each different day of the walk so that we might contact the local radio stations and the local papers based in these specific stopping/starting points and ask for their support and coverage. I am sure that with the correct amount of following, this will be very achievable because after all, it is a human interest slot, isn’t it?

So as today the gym appointment was cancelled I have decided to put it to good use and achieve a little logistics work of my own so we might get some more “behind the scenes” work accomplished.
With that in mind, there is no time like the present…

‘Till tomorrow,

Stay out of the fridge.

Help I have fallen and I can’t get up…LOL love the title….you had me going in the first sentence my heart beat a little faster and I certainly read quicker….glad to hear all’s well..bummer about the trainer, but that shouldn’t stop you from going to the gym and getting in a good work out….I hired a trainer 3 months before I was going on my trip to London and Paris…I was extremely out of shape and I knew that this trip was going to call for walking, and stamina…so he started me out slow and we did all sorts of exercises to build my stamina…man was I ever happy I did that….we must of walked 100 miles in a week easily…but I kept up and only gained 1 # while I was there eating willy nilly and drinking French Champagne by the vat…LOL sounds like your getting it together and getting all your ducks in a row, so to speak…the only advice I can possible throw out there is I would be wearing the shoes I was taking to walk in everyday at some point….I went out and bought new 100$ trainers and ended up wearing crocs the entire trip…LOL I didn’t break them in properly and they made my feet hurt….can’t have that!!! wow four months…I am getting excited…..kat

It will be here all too quickly Kat, four months is no time at all really. I shall definitely be there again but as I say need specific exercises for the terrain I shall walk on and the distances I shall cover so as I have had the offer, I shall leave the program to the professionals!!

First, I love Jo Brand …. second, you can’t be too prepared so good that you are really getting down to the nitty gritty …. 19 weeks will pass in no time at all. Third – well third is just a big fat RESPECT for what you are doing. It will be awesome and HENRY will benefit enormously which has to be good πŸ™‚

Sounds like you’re creating a good plan of action. Stick with your exercising.even though your appointment will be put off until next week. No reason to miss an entire week of incorporating some form of exercise. Maximize all aspects of life (not just for this important event) whenever possible. I’ll stay tuned until the next time……

Thanks Doc. I am very active through the day so am not too worried about being active as I spend all day on my feet at present and am walking the dog on a regular basis. To be honest, I am not really enjoying the weather so that doesn’t help. I shall endeavour a trip to the gym this very day though….!
