You got to make the morning last, just kicking down the cobbled stones, looking for fun and feelin’ groovy…..*
Good morning world and thanks for tuning in to another day here on Planet Magnet. I hope today finds you well and firing on all cylinders, ready to meet the week with a renewed vigour. The weekend is now behind us and the week stretches into the distance. Some of us will not see the going of the week and some of us will see it drag on as though time passed like molasses in winter.
Personally I am fortunate enough to be in the former camp with always so much to do that I struggle to find time to do anything other than literally getting on with life. I honestly never seem to slow down and if I am honest, that is the way I like it!
For example, so far this morning I have woken, answered emails and comments on this blog, gone to see the counsellor (still very impressed as today I was told that I have expectations of others that are set by my own high standards and because of this I am either disappointed or always feel like I need to be in control of certain aspects of things I do… Boy os this lady good!) then it was into town to pick up some ingredients for tomorrows Tasty Tuesday recipe, then a haircut, then a couple of phone calls, then a meeting with “a man about a dog ๐ “, then a trip to pay some bills and pick up yet more parts for my friends house and now I am finally sitting down to lunch at 2.30 and time to write this.
This afternoon looks no easier with yet more calls to make, things to put on eBay, things to moan about to customer services and also a meeting to discuss a change of car for a friend of mine.
This is to be honest, an easy day. I generally have more things to do than I have time for and the old adage a quart into a pint pot springs readily to mind.
But would I have it any other way?
Not on your nellie!
I have not had a day of slumping in front of the TV for quite a few weeks and amazingly enough I am often asked how I would possibly find time to actually start a new business or get a job back in an office, which if I am honest, I would have to say I would ponder that same question.
So this leads me to the start of a new week and if we are honest with ourselves it should make no difference because the day will fly past and the evening will come so quickly and in no time it will once again be the weekend.
I remember when I was sedentaryย the days seemed to last forever but now? Well, I would say that time goes so quickly, if you blink you miss it so it is good to be a “do’er” and a “go getter” because I spent so many years of my life wasting away (quite the opposite in fact I think you will find Cameron, especially when you consider your massive weight….) in front of the TV that I have probably watched enough rubbish to fill several heads with nonsense let alone just mine.
But we still have to consider that time itself is speeding up or at least the fact that creation is happening much quicker than we have ever experienced so therefore our consciousness tells us that time itself is speeding up. I suppose there is an element of truth to this because when do we really sit and simply “Do Nothing”. Very infrequently I would hazard and it is because of this that EVERY waking moment is filled with some kind of stimulation whether it be media – social or otherwise, activity, working or thinking we are relaxing, there is sooting there to take our minds off of the clock and stimulate our brain. All of these things are like a puppy or a new born baby. Because in their company, time simply flies because we are in awe of their simple creation.
It is only an idea of mine but trust me when I say something has changed and on that bombshell I leave you with a link to some amazing physics that attempts to explain the Phenomenon.
I hope it doesn’t blow your mind…
‘Till tomorrow,
Stay out of the fridge.

Spooky. I am convinced that time is speeding up. The days seem to go by in a flash, then a week has gone, a month ……. It’s almost the end of January, it feels as if New Year was only a few days away. Fifth Dimension – I’m on my way.

59th Street Bridge Song (Feelinโ Groovy) – great song. I remember being young and time was so very slow moving, now it does fly by. Have a great day! ๐

Thanks Kat! I actually ended up being quite poorly yesterday and am now only just up so hopefully it was just a 24hr stomach bug as feeling better today. Glad you took time to put your feet up, we all need to do it sometimes!

What I wouldn’t give just to have a day to do nothing but veg out in front of the TV watching rubbish, I’m so tired from all of the hustle and bustle of my world right now. I was JUST contemplating taking a day off soon to just not use my brain for a whole day – I seriously need a brain break. But you’re right-it’s best to be busy than to not. ๐

The lives we live reflect our view of time. Those without clear purpose living the sedentary lifestyle seem to witness time barely moving. Those on the go enjoying the ventures each day often complain about the speed of time. Two very different perspectives on life with diametrically opposing views on time. Pretty interesting. I’ll bet you can guess which view creates greater fulfillment?

100mph is the one I enjoy so much more but boy do I wish I could veg out for an afternoon…. I just seem to have trouble switching off tbh. Maybe things will get better as my new life starts to change me in more ways than I had originally imagined and I will enjoy doing nothing.
It’s weird but the thought of a holiday doesn’t appeal at present because there would be too much relaxing etc. Maybe again I might think differently after walking 170 miles in June!!

My dad always said if you want something done you should ask a busy person …. so given that you seem quite busy can I ask you a favour? Joking! ๐

I have never heard that before! I suppose a busy person is reliable or gets things done or maybe is simply more likely to do it right because others need them to do things! Another busy day here on the Planet of Magnet today. Just got home and am back on here writing again!!

It was his favourite saying – often mildly barbed because he had picked up several things to do from others who were busy doing nothing!

He was pretty much perfect according to my gospel but in seriousness, he was a quiet modest fellow, the true definition of gentleman and had a barrel-load of good sense. I try to aspire ๐
