On The Second Day of Christmas…

On the Second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me…
Two Turtle Doves and a Partridge in a Pear tree.

Good morning everyone and welcome again to the day after Christmas Day, also known as Boxing Day, here on Planet Magnet – and everywhere else for that matter 😉

I trust everyone who partook in yesterdays festivities were suitably stuffed to the gunnels by the end of the day and you all took my advice and Gobbled ’till you Hobbled.

Personally I had an absolutely awesome day. I got to spend it EXACTLY where I wanted to be and with EXACTLY whom I wanted to be with even if it was kind brought to a close early due to feeling a trifle under the weather. Still, my good friend kept hold of Archie the Dog for me and I was able to go home an rest up so at the moment, I am still uncertain as to how I am feeling but I think time will tell as I either brighten up completely or fade dramatically and need yet more paracetamol to keep the engines turning over.

I made out like a bandit on the presents front getting some truly incredible gifts, for which I cannot thank those people who thought so kindly of me enough. I also enjoyed being completely sober for the entire day and nibbling off and on at pieces of turkey and roast potatoes and cheese and biscuits and chocolate and nuts and cheesecake and pickles and, and, and.

It was a most lovely day and I am so pleased to meet this new day without a hangover of any description (even if I am a little heady) that I am thinking I would like a good long walk with the dog just to see that he is equally as worn out as I am by the end of the day so here’s hoping I get to do that….!

I trust you guys are still enjoying the festivities as more friends pass by and more food gets eaten.
Don’t forget Boxing Day is Curry Day so I expect you all to be currying that Turkey like mad and challenging each other to eat hotter and hotter versions.

Have a great day everyone!

‘Till tomorrow,

Stay out of the fridge – I told you the rule change was for one day only….

We don’t do Boxing Day in France …. or rather they don’t. I do and will be having the traditional walk and a few fridge-ends treated to some spicing. I’m so glad you had a lovely Christmas and that you were with those you wanted to be with. That after all should be everyone’s right. It really is that simple 🙂

I suppose Boxing Day isn’t world wide is it? This is a shame because it is a definitely great day for picking at bits of food and continuing on the christmas festivities….!
I totally agree that Christmas is being with whom you want to be with. One day I shall spend it with “The One” and that will make it totally perfect…!
It is MY right to do so and shall happen because I have kissed enough witches thinking they were my princess!
For today though, I shall remain wrapped up warm as I have a cold.
      Just what I wanted…!

I like the old sentiment of Boxing Day which is sadly no more bit ill be your mum remembers as mine does (and the milkman still benefits 😉 ). As for the one … She’ll appear like the lady from the lake (praps she’ll Slay all the witches with Excalibur too now I come to think along those lines – and if she does praps she could rid the world of another psycho hide beast too …. If she had a mo) 😀

Here’s hoping Fiona and I am sure she will be only too happy to use her powers to slay the old Psycho Hose Beast of which you speak and stop her from terrorising your kingdom with the HB2.
I do not recall the true meaning of the day personally and although I could look it up, that would be cheating….!

Boxing Day….I love a good curry….but we will just have the left overs today from yesterdays feast….lots of rouladen, potatoes, gravy, spaetzel for me…the vegies are all gone as the guest all took home plates of everything to nibble on later in the evening or today…we had left over biscuits so we had ham egg biscuits this morning, I am sure that will hold me over till later afternoon…LOL Sorry you have a sniffle…that’s no fun…lets hope you get out for a walk…and isn’t it nice not to be holding you head from a hangover….I never liked the morning after from drinking….not worth the pain and suffering for me…hope you enjoyed the day my friend and I hope you are feeling better this evening….kat

What you call Rouladen we call a Beef Olive and boy do I like a Beef Olive!
Only get them when they are brought back from Scotland so they are quite a rarity here in my neck of the woods but I am thinking maybe it could feature in a Tasty Tuesday….
As for the cold, I am sorry to say it isn’t leaving as quickly as I might have wished and so I am still laid on the sofa having not walked. Archie however got to go out with my friend and her daughter so he was made up beyond belief…!
I have just taken a few Paracetamol so hopefully they will kick in soon and I shall be feeling well enough to join the three walkers a little later for a bit of a buffet even though I am not really feeling too clever at all….!
      Hopefully back with it tomorrow.
      Have a great day Kat.
