The Man From Del Monte….

He Says YES!

Good  morning world and thanks for tuning in once again to another day here on Planet Magnet. The weekend is finally here and I for one will look forward to putting my feet up this afternoon and taking a load off.

As you know for the past few weeks I have been helping my friend with her house renovation and it would appear we are now in the final throws of completion of this stage, so we have been making it nice enough that she can move in today and finally sleep there for the first time since buying the place back in February of this year!

This has meant a few late nights, early mornings and a great deal of “where did that time go”!
A prime example being yesterday when I arrived at the house at 8am and started to get on with things. I hadn’t expected to still find myself there at 11.20 pm last night when I realised it was perhaps a little too late to be still putting ticks on the job list!
Still, I have nearly finished all I wanted to do with the exception of a few more involved of jobs so I shall go back this morning and tidy them up. All of this activity will mean I will hopefully be laying on my sofa come 2pm this afternoon safe in the knowledge that I will have done all I can for my friend to make her new home as comfortable as I can (as a bloke can do anyway 😉 ) without having had to get on my marigold rubber gloves 😉

So then, what’s the title all about?

Well over here in the UK we have a saying that comes from a television advert about fruit juice from a manufacturer by the name of Del Monte. It may well be world wide and I may well be preaching to the converted but just in case you are in the dark, the entire thing revolves around someone giving the farmers the go ahead to harvest their crops so they can be turned into Del Monte juice.
This I suppose has caught on and has long been part of UK culture so people will know how much you mean Yes you say “The man from Del Monte, he says Yes!”

My that was a bit long winded but we got there.

So why am I telling you about an old fruit importer then?

Well, it would appear that you guys are my man from Del Monte and and you have all of you to a reader and friend said YES! I should follow the idea of becoming a life coach/ personal development trainer in the weight loss and fitness world. You nearly all cite the reasons and you so very kindly all believe in me.

You all believe that the reason I would be good is because of my life experience – I’ve been there and done that…. And the fact that I am empathetic towards people and can listen and understand. A few of you sweetly advised that although I would be good, it is not as simple as we might think and I should make sure I could:
A- Make a living from following this career path
B- Be able to cope with the emotional intensity of some of the people I might well meet down the line and not get caught up in their problems, possibly being unable to separate myself from it all.

The feedback you guys gave ranged from the short and simple to the thoughtful and measured but the overriding factor is that there is definitely food for thought in this idea and I think without a shadow of a doubt there is a need to further my investigations.
This I shall do in the New Year and I shall see how achievable the required accreditations are so I might be better placed to make more of an informed decision.

So suffice to say, today finds me busy (this morning 😉 ) and in a good place. I must therefore thank you all for your positivity regarding the career change and let us continue our journeys together so that we might ALL benefit.

Now, until next time you come by have a great weekend and above all get in some relaxation and you time because it will soon be Christmas and we all know only too well there’s NO time for relaxing at Christmas!!

‘Till tomorrow,

Stay out of the fridge.

I don’t yet know you well enough to presume to offer an opinion as to your suitability to become a life coach, although you come across as a very open and warm-hearted man, a true ‘people person,’ and you have the benefit of much experience to offer to others.

    (A) and (B) sound like excellent advice, particularly (B). It is hard not to become emotionally involved in the problems of others. If you decide to follow that path, would you undergo training? If so, it would surely cover ways to deal with it.

Thank you for that, you are very kind to say so. I am pretty certain that the way I come across on this blog is the way I am in real life, or at least try to be!
I would imagine there is training for the coping of other problems getting too much so hopefully it will be something I can handle…!

Yes I agree training will be needed especially to learn to deal with the energy suckers, for no better way to call them…it will be an important part of your repertoire to learn to keep your boundaries up and in tact, no matter how desperate some can be…training and your natural instincts, you will be very effective in peoples lives…I am very excited for you….you could also offer your services via internet….for those of us across the vast pond that could benefit from your assistance….Happy weekend to you…..Kat

I believe we are all life coaches as we acquire the wisdom to share with others. To pursue a career in this area can be a challenge as there is all the challenges of starting and building a business, but starting small and building a reputation is key. I believe that you have the confidence to take on any task you decide to pursue. But remember as in all things… Baby Steps.

Although I gave you my thumbs up for the idea of career coach, you never offered your readers the option of making a career change to becoming an exotic dancer! I think you need to re-solicit your readers for another opinion! 😀

Glad to see your excited about the possibilities that 2016 may bring. Wishing you all the best in this year as well as 2016.
