I can hear you all cheering!
Friday is here!
It’s finally the weekend!
Well, yes it is and do you know what?
I am going to enjoy every minute of it.
I shall pack so much into this weekend I think other people will wonder how I managed it!
Or at least after nearly three weeks of downtime, I think my body will be thinking WOAH!! What are you doing man! Have you gone nuts!
You see yesterday I woke and I felt GOOD! Then I had an email from the Churchill Hospital to tell me that the blood tests they did all came back as perfect as they can be for someone who has undergone a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. My Iron levels are good, my red and white blood cell counts are good, my calcium levels are good, my B12 is good etc etc the list continues to show that I am completely healthy and nothing untoward is going on so it really must have been a virus or a knock on effect from the Flu Jab just as those Doctory people said it would be.
Clever souls they are eh….!
So because of this I shall be taking myself off for a long walk on Sunday and also starting back at the gym on Monday (yes I know that isn’t the weekend but I don’t want to peak too soon now do I?)
It honestly feels great to know that all of the counts are okay because since having the Gastroenteritis last month and then coming down with this virus I was a trifle worried that I may have done something to myself or gotten myself some kind of infection that would now affect me more so than before the stomach operation. Fortunately this is not the case so I shall definitely make the most of my newly reinvigorated situation and be as aggressively active as my body and energy levels will allow.
Today I shall resume my walking duties with a friend of mine then I shall be moving some furniture with another pal and I shall probably walk the dog again later in the day time with another friend… Oh I am so considerate fitting all of my friends into my life, allowing them access to my positivity and awesomeness 😉 (Too much? Yeah, probably a little)
This will mean that my days will be getting back on track and my wearable technology will be back to being used as a way of measuring my activity and not as a paperweight and my trail shoes, walking boots, walking outfit and waterproof jacket will no longer simply be there for ornamental purposes as they sit unused in my wardrobe.
Things are looking up and I am positive it’s going to be a great weekend for sure!!

Wednesday’s food was pretty good to be honest even if there was a virtually calorie free meal at lunch time in the form of the Zaalouk. The day continued well and sensible eating abounded in the form of Piri Piri Chicken for my evening meal. All of this helped to keep the totals for the day sensible seeing as there was still no exercise ad the only thing that took me over on the carbohydrates was the toast I ate in the morning so not too bad at all really.
Yesterday there was no exercise although I did go to my confidence and stress management class so there was a certain amount of nervous energy spent due to going out of my comfort zone. To be entirely honest, this meant that by the time I had gotten home and completed the few jobs I had to do, I was pretty tired when it came to dinner. I had a friend come over to join me so it was a lovely evening and great to natter and eat my latest recipe – Chilli Con Carne made with a Brisket of Beef instead of mince – whilst receiving the plaudits for yet another tasty dish 🙂
Anyway, I’m off to do stuff 🙂
Stay out of the fridge.
