A Little Wednesday Pick Me Up.

Hello everyone and welcome to the Hump Day.

Everyone smiles when they see a picture of a cute puppy, no matter how hard hearted you are, no matter how cynical you are, it makes you feel better and that is what life is all about.

Feeling better day on day.

As you may know I have said before Hump Day for me is okay, I treat it as just another day in the week and use it to my advantage, getting as much done as I can, whether that be a trip to the gym, walking or writing (my three main staples of the day oh, plus cooking food…. 😉 ) but I certainly don’t let it annoy me or look forward to it being over.

Tasty Tuesday – Even The Most Uninformed Can Cook Healthy Food

So that title pretty much sums up all of my culinary skills in a nutshell.

I have none YET I am still able to cook foods that are tasty, healthy and above all SIMPLE.

Please believe me when I say there is no hidden genius to my cooking, it is just a matter of taking the ingredients, preparing them and then putting them together before you cook and as I have said many time before, if I can do it then anyone can and therefore that should mean an end to processed foods in all of our diets…..

The Sunday Stroll – If You Go Down To The Woods Today…

So yesterday was Sunday once more and Archie and I wanted to stretch our legs. With decisions no currently being made about next years Charity Walk I felt we best make the most of our freedom to choose a flatter terrain (or so I thought…) for yesterdays walk and because of that we made our way to a place called Shotover Park near Oxford for a walk in the woods.

As you know we normally walk along the Ridgeway on a Sunday and this will continue again because I have decided on the dates of the Charity Walk now being early June (around the 6th) which should be the day after I hit 500 posts on this blog. This will be the day I start the 87 mile Ridgeway walk, a walk I expect to take me in the region of five days. I shall then complete this and immediately travel 300 miles north to Hadrian’s Wall (another famous walk) that stretches from one side of the UK to the other covering the 84 miles from Bowness to Wallsend and again aim to do this in five days also. The first walk I am thinking will be a great deal easier to manage as I am local to it and will have support locally to bring food and water and take away rubbish and the like. However, I am sure things will be different at Hadrian’s Wall as I currently have no real support there so may need to be a touch more self sufficient!

Another Heatwave? But It’s Nearly October!

A heatwave is what they are calling it.

To be honest all it really is, is the sun has come out and warmed us up a little.

I honestly don’t think we can call 15˚c a heatwave, can we?

Obviously here in the UK, any sunshine is welcomed with open arms and because it is seldom seen, it is always headline news!

So What Changed Then?

It is something that I feel I must delve into and try to find an answer so thank you Osyth from Half Baked In Paradise for posing the question.

On Monday when I was interviewed for the TV program I said that on the day of surgery it was like a switch had been flicked and I became incredibly conscious of what I ate and what I did. I effectively changed my relationship with food and exercise overnight and this statement must therefore beg the question.

Why?

And So Back To Reality I Must Come

Happy Friday everyone! (just stole a little bit from a UK Radio D.J just there – not saying who though 😉 )

So what does the end of the week hold for you?

For me it is the chance to reflect and count my blessings. To consider how grateful I am that things are going so well and possibly to have a look in the mirror and pat myself on the back a little. I am due to come back to reality anytime now but thinking about that can wait because this gorgeous little chap has come to stay for a couple of weeks.

And So The World Keeps On Turning

Motivation, Motivation, Motivation.

That’s pretty much the main ingredient we need to keep our heads up.

It can be tough at times and I will freely admit that in the past it has been very tough for me, even as recently as two weeks ago when I felt as though I was on the “bones of my ar$e”

But please know this everyone.

Things change.

Things get better and life becomes great again.

A Return To Being The Media Tart

Good morning everyone and I hope this latest post finds you well and happy with everything that life is currently offering. I know I for one am still in a good place, facing my challenges as they are presented and dealing with them to the best of my abilities.

One such challenge is being interviewed on the TV and even though I have done it before, I must confess that I felt a little nervous this time. I can only assume the nervousness came from the fact that people are going to see what I am now looking like as opposed to what I did look like and although I still have a long way to go, it is still a “semi reveal” for me so I suppose it adds to the whole sense of occasion.
