So yesterday was Sunday and we all know what happens on a Sunday? Yes, that is correct, we take Archie the Dog for his long walk.
We usually head up to the Ridgeway for his long walk and traverse it’s terrain until we are no longer fit to do so but unfortunately due to the weather being absolutely terrible and my walking companion believing that they may well be made from sugar and might possibly melt in the rain, we were slightly delayed so instead we retired to my kitchen and made up food for our picnic tomorrow (although the weather looks grim for that now too… 😦 )
Anyway, after making our way through the contents of the larder and cooking all that was required for our hopeful picnic, the rain started to dissipate and we decided it would be safe to leave the safety of the house.
Now usually when I do any kind of walk with the dog on a Sunday, I will take my iPhone and record parts of the walk in pictures and record the trek with my Map My Walk app on the phone. Unfortunately yesterday I forgot the phone so was unable to record the walk in pictures and I was also unable to record the trek.
Doh!
So I am afraid there is nothing much to show you apart from my Jawbone Up2 screenshot which is available at the end of todays post.
So all I can do is apologise and say if you take a look at the header you will see the walk was made even more beautiful for taking in a nature reserve in Letcombe Regis which is yet another place I am lucky enough to harvesting on my doorstep!
I promise this will not happen again and that next week will be a return to form for the walk in photo’s… 😉

So a good day considering it took place on a gym and power walk day. Yes the protein and the carbs are up but they are from the supplements I take on the days I have increased activity so no real drama’s with anything consumed and the only reason the fat content was up was because of the “good” fats and oils in the Salmon fillets so personally I would call Saturday a bit of a food victory 🙂
Another food and drink victory I am pleased with is from Saturday evening when I attended a Hog Roast with friends. Now in the past I would have struggled not to eat my own bodyweight in pork products and drink as much cider or beer as was available, however with my new found inner calm and will power I was able to resist the alcohol completely, yet still remain relaxed enough to stay at the party of a good couple of hours. During this time I will admit I was tempted by the hog roast but chose to leave it and let the others benefit from it’s loveliness (although my portion would have been very small indeed…. 😉 ) Now I know a little victory like this would seem to someone without my food and drink history as insignificant, but honestly if you could understand the great feeling it gave me being able to resist the temptations on offer you might begin to get into the psyche of a fat person….
Anyway, that small victory aside, I was going to monitor my walk with the Map My Walk app but forgot to turn it on after we had decided to do a shorter 7 mile circuit and left my phone at home (no photo’s as I said!)
But the Jawbone Up2 app works regardless syncing when I returned and charting my 18,737 steps
So with yesterday’s activities all charted and nothing but a memory today is planning to be a good deal slower with a stroll around one of the many local (ish) country parks planned along with a healthy picnic (obviously weather dependant…. 😉 )
Now usually I would be going to the gym but I have changed my training days to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday now as I really want to keep Body Balance in the regime and I think this is the best way to achieve it. So to that end, I hope you all enjoy your bank holiday as much as I plan to and we will catch up again in the morning with another healthy Tasty Tuesday recipe.
‘Till tomorrow,
Stay out of the fridge.
Bank Holiday in Blighty weather, then!!

Never fear all the kids are back in school now, so we should get at least a week of good weather 🙂

I’m liking your thinking. I was going to put any future good weather coming our way down to the fact I have just brought a new waterproof coat and that usually puts the kibosh on anything happening so it can be worn – think of it as the reverse of buying sunglasses!
