A Post For The Day

I know! I know!

Ha Ha Ha!!

I’m sorry but it just came to me as I was looking at some old photos and found the one I used for todays header.

It was taken and edited by a good friend of mine Dean Floyd Photography and it is called “Cam’s Post”

Quite apt given that I now issue a daily post from this here blog 🙂

Anyway, sorry for being late on parade but it felt like all of my get up and go had got up and gone!

I needed rest and getting up at 6am to write or do anything was not part of the plan.

I had run out of steam and needed to recharge my batteries.

I must remember that less than six months ago I was completely sedentary and now, well in comparison I run around like a spring lamb (obviously I don’t gambol and kick my feet in the air, that would be too odd… 😉 ) and that it is only natural that I will have to rest at times because without the correct amount of rest, the body just gives up and that is why I hit the wall a trifle today. Still a day of downed tools should see me right. 😉

So today this is all I am going to give you.

Think positive thoughts and positive things will happen.

My Jawbone read a decent amount for a rest day at over 7000 steps…

I was worried about you this morning when my daily read wasn’t available – ha! We all need a rest now and then!! Glad things are okay and that you are listening to your body.

And that is what I need to keep upfront and standing to attention in my mind…Rome wasn’t built in a day! I’m still pre surgery and have lost 14lbs in past 8 weeks, it feels like a monumental way to go ..

Thanks Mr Magnet ..sorry I haven’t cottoned on to your name yet ..lol. I was reading your diet for Wednesday and noticed diet whey protein and recovery drinks. Do you find these beneficial to your weight loss and in your experience are they helpful to both men and women?

Hi Julie, my name is Cameron, that will make it a little easier for you to refer to me although I do get called a myriad of things including Magnet!!
The reason I use the protein drinks is because post surgery we need to take on protein and this allows me to consume extra protein without many calories, carbs or fats. It is suitable for men and women but obviously I measures may change between them.
As for the Recovery drink, it is just that. I only consume it on the days I go to the gym. Please do not use this type of supplement unless you are working out and struggle to refill your carbohydrates through your diet. Understand that this is a supplement and as such is EXTRA to all other things I might eat or drink. The reason I allow something so calorie heavy into my diet is because on a gym and power walk day I will easily burn 1000 calories in three hours and if we consider my basal rate is 1500 calories per day that kind of deficit would be too great. This means a deficit of 1000 calories if I can actually consume 1500 (quite a challenge post surgery) This leaves me with no energy for the next trip to the gym/power walk hence the requirements for the extras.
Please do read any information you can as to whether either of the supplements will be of use to you. I am thinking that as you are pre surgery, you have no need for them at present and would only recommend introducing them at least three months post surgery and that is only if you become active exercising frequently.
      Hope that helps
