Morning world and welcome to the weekend.
Saturday is here and we can all do what we want. I choose today to go to my second Tai Chi lesson and learn.
Unfortunately most of my working week was taken up with illness and building furniture so not much in the way of writing was accomplished even though I had promised myself that I would get cracking on the outstanding projects. They will now wait until Monday to come around again because it appears that I am fairly worn out after a week that when I was well enough to be busy, found my time was consumed in some shape or form by furniture…!
Yesterday was a bit of a busy day where I found myself heading up to London to collect some furniture for my brother in order to drop it at a house closer to where I live. Ordinarily it would have been a lovely day out but by the time I had collected the van, sorted out the warning light on the dash and got going along the M4, I was already late by the time I hit the traffic. And when I say hit the traffic I was in one of those standstill scenarios where people got out of their cars and walked about. This wouldn’t have been so bad but for the fact it was a baking hot day and for some reason I had chosen to wear a pair of denim jeans to drive in. What a daft idea that was. I was absolutely boiling in no time and then being forced to sit in the jam for an hour just made it worse. Finally I made it into central London and loaded the van up with the furniture that required moving and I was on my way again, however I made the mistake of leaving a different way only to be caught in even more traffic on the way home.
Well one thing lead to another and by the time steam should have been coming out of my ears I had dropped the furniture off and had made it home, dreaming of a relaxing bath and then my bed only to find a friend had had a rotten day so my nice guy nature kicked in and asked if she wanted to go for a drink to talk it over. Well no need to ask if she wanted to because instead of writing this post yester-DAY, I am writing it last night when I should be in my bed.
And do you know what, when I thought about my reaction to all of the above, that’s when I realised none of it matters because yesterday I woke in such a great mood after a wonderful nights sleep, I realised that you know what? Everything is coming together. Yes I may still have little issues every now and then but my life since surgery and weight loss is bloody amazing and yesterday was proof of it. In the past after a hard day of moving furniture and sitting in LONG traffic jams, I would ordinarily have taken myself off to the pub and ignored anyone else’s problems. I would have had a drink and relaxed but been selfish. However, since my operation and getting my life back, I am absolutely so happy to give of myself to my family and friends that I probably enjoy helping more than they do getting the help. I was only too happy to listen to my pal and her days problems and I was only too happy to help my brother move that furniture. Things are great, truly great and I am sure it will long continue because slowly and surely I am finding that I am getting my life back to where I was before and with each passing day comes a new realisation… 🙂
Amazing really. Have an operation to deal with a weight issue and not only do I get fit and healthy, I also get my old selfless persona back as well.
Bariatric surgery? If it makes everyone as happy as I am, would recommend it to anyone!

Not too bad food wise, not a great deal of volume taken on and still plenty of fluids being consumed. Expecting the intake from Monday to rise a bit more sharply after my return to the Gym on the first of my 3 sessions per week. The fat intake was a little higher than usual but then it always is with a protein driven breakfast.
No gym or dog walk yesterday but I did wear my Jawbone Up24 as I said I would and even though I spent the day driving I was surprised how many steps were taken with the count of over 5000!
As I said, today I shall be attending Tai Chi and this afternoon I plan to spend on the river with a friend and his new boat so I don’t imagine there will be much in the way of massive amounts of activity (apart from the Tai Chi) that I can calculate for you so tomorrow will be a bit of a same day regarding the screenshots however, tomorrow should change all of that as I have a decent walk along the Thames Riverbank tomorrow so hopefully that will really see me back to full strength and in a go get ’em mindset.
Stay out of the fridge.
