Morning world and thanks for tuning in.
Today the blog almost returns to normal after my self imposed four day rest period including the one day enforced rest looking after the dog (after his trip to the vets to have the teeth out).
And as much as I enjoyed not doing anything each day and recharging my batteries, I still missed not exercising or walking the dog.
I have still to get to the bottom of why I was so tired but may have decided that it has to do with what I am consuming food wise and whether it has been affected by alcohol consumption (although not a great deal to be sure) nullifying the goodness my body gets from the nutrition in the food.
To that end I shall only eat good nutritional food, always take my supplements and always be completely hydrated. After a conversation with three or four different people I have invested in a post work out recovery drink and taking the first drink Tuesday to get it in my system (as shown in the diary) followed by one yesterday post work out, I can confirm I am still with energy so hopefully will be back at the gym today working just as hard as yesterday.
I seriously need to get rid of this malaise because it is kicking my arse at the moment and I have been kind of worried it was beginning to win so to that end, here’s hoping the drink with leave me feeling a little more energised because with the negative kind of attitude I will never get anywhere and will remain unmotivated. I need to smash this tiredness by looking after my body and what I consume although strangely enough it is not only me who is suffering. I spoke to a friend on Sunday and strangely the conversation turned to energy levels and both she and her friend with whom she was sat also agreed to having reduced energy at present so we are wondering if it is also possibly related to the weather being so muggy and close. It is very strange but also very understandable how the weather can affect us. Moods and energy levels at their most basic come from direct within ourselves and as we are part of the earth and it’s make up I suppose it must be little wonder that we are affected by the atmosphere we currently find ourselves in.
Still, I am hoping to find that a completely hydrated and replenished Cameron will continue uninterrupted as a regular gym attendee, although I do keep the fact I have not long had major surgery at the back of my mind and I do sometimes wonder if that is having something to do with it. Perhaps the anaesthetic on a sub atomic level takes a while to break down to a level where the body no longer notices that it has ever been under it’s energy sapping spell.
But then it could be many many things and all I can do is keep trying solutions until one of them finally clicks into place.

A good day of healthy eating even if a little on the light side, after a days cooking on Monday saw me able to make some of my favourite dishes and store them in the tupperware containers for consumption through the week. I made some of my most favourite healthy dishes and tried a new one out (see next weeks Tasty Tuesday) to boot. Obviously my carbs are up because of the recovery drink but I am positive I need it due to the intensity of my gym work outs.
So finally yesterday meant a return to the gym but unfortunately no walking as the dog is still in recovery. It was good to get back on the bike (literally and not figuratively this time) and do my 19 minutes of level 4 training following up with the 5 mins stepping machine and 6 mins cross trainer. Once completed I was able to knock this strength training circuit out and didn’t feel like I was ready to drop at the end of it.

I do feel so much better mentally and so much happier when I have completed both my strength and cardio-vascular training, so today I am a happy chap for sure although not walking with the dog was difficult but given the little critter spent Monday in the vets having some teeth removed, I can’t blame his reluctance on laziness! The anaesthetic really wiped him out, so much so he only managed a quick trip and thus was no point in measuring it!
Okay, so no records were broken, no personal bests achieved but I went, I worked out, I conquered. I got back on the horse and I was able to cover 3504 steps in the process so was pleased with this latest Jawbone Up24 screenshot.
I am pretty sure I am getting over the hump of not having any energy for my training and am happy I am getting back into the swing of things if only to give you guys something to read… Well I hope you read it!
Stay out of the fridge.
