If It’s The Weekend It Must Be Party Time

Hello everybody!

Quick post today because…. It’s the weekend!

Saturday is here and today there is a locally arranged day of entertainment known as “Party/Rock in the Park” which I plan to attend not only for the entertainment but to once again catch up with old school friends as yet another school reunion has been arranged to take place at the same time! And let us be honest, we none of us can wait to see what they think of my weight loss since the last time I saw them (March 21st only 8 days after my surgery) and I think this fact alone will be worth the write up when I shall go into this in more detail on Sunday but for now I thought you may like to know… (yeah, right :-/ )

Yesterday saw me exercising and walking early in the day as I had to meet up with someone to help them with selling stuff on eBay. I say help them but I really mean do it for them as outlined in yesterdays post so that pretty much took up all of my day and proved very tiresome and uninteresting.

So what does today hold then?

Well I shall walk as usual (although not entirely sure how far as yet) then I shall attend the Party in The Park and attempt to keep my good name clear of alcohol and other vices as I enjoy once again catching up with friends and allowing them to Ooh and Ahh in my direction as they realise how much weight I have lost! Once the pleasantries are over we shall no doubt settle down to watching Wantage’s most talented people perform on stage for our delight. I think there is actually a BBQ for people of my reunion however, I am fairly certain I shall not be partaking due to the fact that a burger or sausage in a bun is not really yet on the menu (or actually allowed in my current month of abstinence) Still this is all assumption as none of this has happened as yet!

To be honest that is all of my news for now so today is a quick post for a change.

Food wise we didn’t do too badly a bit high on the carbs but given that it was a gym and walking day (Thursday) and I had busted my pan out in the gym, I think I very much had them covered. You will note there are no chocolatey treats, no sugary carbs (well apart from the penne… 😉 ) and no fizzy drinks. This is the way I must start behaving as a default setting and not trying to achieve it in the odd occasion. Realisations such as this prove to me that I have a long way yet to go and as I am not yet a full four months out of surgery, I think I must agree with myself!

So yesterday was day two at the gym and for a change I went early because of my meetings to solve some eBay issues for someone else (i.e. not me…!). I started as usual and pretty soon got into the swing of things even though it seemed very strange being out at that early hour of the morning taking the dog on a walk which I caught on Map My Walk:

I again completed a Cardio workout on the exercise bike (level 4 for 19 minutes) before the stepping machine (5 minutes at level 5) ending on the cross trainer (level 6 for 6 minutes). However, this felt weird as though my body had not yet woken even though I was forcing it into rigorous movement that was alien to me at that time of day!

Unfortunately by the time I had finished my cardio session I was an absolute spent force so I really am going to have to get to the bottom of this.

Am I doing too much or am I under eating? This is something I will have to resolve because at the moment I have no energy in my body what so ever and that is not good for a gym fancier like myself!

The Polar H7 heart rate monitor showed that I had burned 648 calories over the 3 exercises:

And the end of the day brought my decent Jawbone Up24 reading of 12120 which was not surprising given that I was on my feet most of the day even if I was absolutely battered tired:

With relaxation the order of today I don’t suppose there will be much to report in the morning but then who knows what could happen at Party in the Park!

    Interesting how many of your school friends are still in the local area … my experience of Wantage (and its villages) is that it has a less transient population than many places which must reflect well on the place. Intriguing
