Seize The Day!
A quick post today as yesterday was quite full on and I didn’t actually have that much free time for the writing of my blog so apologies for that.
So another week is over and Sunday is once again here to take us slowly into the new week.
How was your week?
Did you achieve your targets?
Did you become what you wanted?
Or did you remain the same? Unhappy with your life, not understanding that to make a change we HAVE TO SEIZE the opportunity by the lapels and shake it until it gives us what we need.
Well it’s never too late to do something about it.
We are only ONE thought away from our next life changing decision.
So what will YOU do today?
For me it shall be a trip to the gym and a walk with the dog because yesterday was a rest day although I did walk and walk and walk…. (add nauseum).
However, because of the distance we had planned to cover (don’t forget these walks are designed to increase my fitness for the main event next year) and the fact that the weather was at times in its upper extremes, we felt it wisest to leave Archie the dog at home.
I think that unfortunately this will be a trend in the warmer months as he really doesn’t cope well with the heat and now he is getting older, maybe the distances might start to take their toll but I think I will have to leave that decision until later in the year when it has cooled down and I given him the opportunity to show me what he is made of – the right stuff if I remember correctly because he is one tough little cookie… 😉
Today though, we shall have a decent walk around one of the villages or other routes that offers him some shade from the sun and still gives me a workout out of sorts. Regardless of where I walk, I shall be motivated to get out and do something, I will be motivated enough to get to the gym, I will also be motivated enough to continue eating healthily as this month to my next weights and measures session, I shall abstain from ALL foods that are not healthy for me so there will be no sweet treats, no alcohol (yes I slipped off of that wagon a couple of weeks ago when the sun came out) and plenty of getting myself around, doing my walks and gym sessions.
I actually wanted to be under 120kgs when I went for my weights and measures on Friday and although I was very happy with my achievement as listed in yesterdays post “The Only Way Is Up!” I was still aware that I hadn’t gotten to where I really want to be. Again I still know that this is a marathon and not a sprint and yes I have lost nearly SIX stone in weight from my high point in Feb last year but I also still remember the last time I weighed myself in the gym (ten years ago) I was so buzzed when I found that I was under 120kgs I promised myself I would kick on and lose more weight. Well obviously that didn’t happen and I now have a certain personal broken promise to myself that I need to put right.
So this will be my motivation.

Yesterday was a gym rest day so there are no Polar H7 screenshots, however I did manage a very good leg stretching walk that took me a fair old distance so that inevitably got us a worthy Map My Walk screenshot.
And as for the Jawbone Up24 reading, well you can see for yourself that I knocked my usual total out of the park and then some….
So next time I will be back with more reports of movement and gym sessions to show you. I’ll bet you can’t wait…!
