*Inspector Dreyfus, The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976)
Morning all. Hope this new blog finds you well. I have to admit yet another thing, but this one I am sure you will be pleased about because I am positive that each new day that comes, I feel better than the last (unfortunately apart from my back issues, although they themselves are better on the whole) and as you might think, I am loving every minute of it.
I am living proof that Bariatric Surgery does so much more for the patient than simply helps with their weight loss. It has helped me regain a good deal of my mobility, it has helped me to reduce the medication that I had to take each day, it has (again on the whole) helped with mental health to the point where I now meet each day with a smile.
I count my calories, carbs, protein and fats everyday and because of this I am able to understand how I am treating my body each day and what foods are actually good for me rather than what the foodstuffs marketing company would have you believe. As you know I ate a Mars Bar the other day and was gobsmacked to find the amount of carbs that I did, but it wouldn’t have happened had I not been running the diary as I do.
Everyday I try harder than the day before to feed myself properly, too fulfil my exercise goals and to complete all of my projects that I now undertake thanks to this massive new lease of life. I know there are going to be days where I fall and have blips but as time goes on, they get fewer and fewer. I no longer dream about burgers and fries or stuffed crust pizza’s and today I watched the weirdest video about a bacon wrapped grilled cheese sandwich which was basically a cheese sandwich wrapped in bacon and fried. Now before my operation I would have loved one, but now I look at it and my first thought is “who on earth dreamt that up and why”!
A huge change in attitude there which is why I firmly believe that “everyday in every way, I am getting better and better”
And I’d to think that some of you might even agree… 😉

Unfortunately yesterday’s gym session didn’t happen due to spasms and pain in the lower back. It has made think that maybe it might be wise to reconsider the gym frequency and possibly reduce the number of days attending before having a rest day. I think I need to play about with that but I think it is probably for the best if for now I allow my body the rest it so obviously requires before I give myself another injury that prolongs the problem. I think maybe four days of walks alongside three days of gym could help thus giving me two days between a three day group of gym sessions. Anyway, like I say, I shall play about with it.
So only a Jawbone reading which was this:
Yesterday however, Archie and I walked with a friend and her dog but she also brought her new puppy (Humphrey) along with her. He didn’t get to walk being too young, instead he got to see all the action from his little “Joey” pouch that she wears around her neck. At first I felt for the little fella but then I saw how much he enjoyed it and realised what a wonderful idea it was to get the little dog out with the other two bigger ones so he could see the lay of the land and start his socialising as soon as possible. Archie was quite fascinated by this puppy and the fact that he was up out of reach, but I must confess to enjoying the walk being able to have a cuddle with the little Humphrey every now and then. I’ve already arranged another walk with him tomorrow and I can’t wait – I’m a right softie I tell you!
Stay out of the fridge.
