Time Sure Does Fly!

Well as I said in yesterdays post, it was a scheduled rest day for exercise but I did have to go to the Churchill hospital for my three month check up.

Three months!

I cannot believe that it was so long ago that I had my operation. Quite amazing how the time has truly flown in. Since the big day I have started to live once again, started to take more chances, started to get out more. To be honest, I have just started….

Life is for living is a bit of a cliche but it is also a truism and this operation is helping me to do just that. As you know I walk the dog and go to the Gym, I have started to cook and learn new recipes, I blog here everyday, I blog on Huffington Post, I write my own material for (hopefully one day) commercial success and finally I have started to make You Tube episodes.

All of these things I can honestly say I would NEVER have done because the old me was too caught up in my failures to recognise my success. The new me however is only too aware how much life is changing and that it can only be down to me to make those changes and thinking about it, DOESN’T do it.

I was weighed at the hospital and was surprised to find on their scales I was lighter than I thought (125.7 kgs or 19.75 stone, I also remember these scales appearing a bit “heavy”) so was able to smile at that for the rest of the day. I had a good chat with Lisa the Bariatric Nurse and Caroline the Dietician; and although they are impressed with how I am living my life, my increased activity and my food choices, they did say they thought I maybe ate portions that were too big for my new stomach at this stage so that is something I need to address as soon as possible and also I need to increase my Protein to Carbohydrate ratio although this is something I had identified myself a couple of weeks ago after studying the food diary’s. Very handy things these diary’s, no hiding from their findings ;-/

No exercise as have already said yesterday was a rest day so I didn’t wear the Jawbone as it would barely register any time sat in the car or sat in front of this word processing machine, which is just as well because I was absolutely battered after my previous days exertions!

With that in mind, I shall be keen to get right back into it today (when I say keen I more than likely mean reluctant 😉 ) so get ready for an action packed movement and gym report tomorrow… Well, I’m not sure about action packed, but there will be a report :-/

‘Till Tomorrow

Stay out of the fridge.

I’m sure I shall get it licked (if it were an ice cream that would be the case) in time. It’s just a matter of trying to be sensible. My activity is so high compared to what it was, I am sure I am burning off any excess I may indulge in, it’s just we don’t want issues to be coming in future years and having the stomach stretch once again.
Today I have invested in a whey protein tub that mixes with water so will wait my desire for food whilst giving me a boost of protein. Hopefully that will help to address part of my problem.
